My Blog bio picture

Cutie from Miami!

This lovely lady’s big sister had been photographed by me a whopping 7 years ago. Their family had since moved to Florida, but happened to be in Virginia for a wedding. Perfect timing! We were able to squeeze little sister’s first portrait session in right before the rehearsal! She was such an angel – big smiles the whole session.

Well, maybe not the WHOLE time.

Sunset Session

This mini-session was scheduled for the sunset hour which is one of my favorite times to shoot. The warmth of the sun shines through and in some cases casts a pretty flare onto the image. We did this session to celebrate little man’s 4th birthday, and also capture a few images of him with Mom’s due-any-day belly!

Baby Makes Three

This mom-to-be was so beautiful and so fun to photograph! She and her husband were so excited for their baby girl to arrive. We did the maternity session at the studio and then did the newborn session in their home, to maximize comfort and ease after the delivery. They had such a beautiful nursery set up for their baby girl. What a fun place for our session!

Four Months

This family has a tradition of photographing their babies (all five of them!) at the 4 month mark. We set the date twice for the newest little one, Tristan, and both times had to reschedule due to weather. When doing on location photography, the light is key. Rainy and stormy won’t work if relying on natural light. We finally hit the jackpot on the third try. It was worth the wait! We even caught a few of him with his big sister to round out the session. Such cuties!

Eating, eating, and more eating

It is safe to say I have never seen a little one want to eat so much during a session. He was hungry constantly! Every time we got him down in a position, I could grab a few shots, and then the sheer exhaustion of the one minute of photo time just wiped him out, and he was ready to eat again:)I thought it was so cute how much hair he had, and how shockingly dark it was compared to his mom’s. Oodles of cuteness…
